Best of luck to the Wild Cats and the Nordiks as they gear up for this weekend’s tournament. They’d love to see you in the stands!

Here’s a photo recap of the evening.  A second gallery coming up soon!

The winner of the prize basket was Abigail L.

And a little surprise on behalf of the Ottawa Senators (Thank you so much Kelly!) on the morning after the game: Girls got watch the Sens Practice!

Until next year,

Have a great summer everyone!

Wow, thank you #Ottawa

Words cannot describe the thrill and appreciation shown by our flash fans at the #friendshipgame tonight.

We just wanted to say a quick thank you to the volunteers that helped in any way they could, the folks who donated prizes and hockey equipment, the teams support staff for enabling us to surprise the girls.

And of course to the fans that drew up signs, cheered the plays and took part in the raffle: you showed up ready to go and there was nothing more heart warming then seeing all of you in the stands.

Thank you.

PS – pictures and raffle winner’s name will be posted tomorrow, after we catch up on some sleep.

PPS – if you missed tonight’s game, both teams are playing in the tournament at the Sensplex this weekend.

“Every day is a great day for hockey.”

Mario Lemieux said it and it still holds true. But today, we make it a truly amazing day for hockey.

Tonight, we are taking over the Bell Sensplex-Mattamy Homes Arena for the Nepean Wildcats – Nunavik Nordiks Friendship Game at 7:15pm (to 8’ish). We are giving the girls on both teams, the opportunity of “Home Ice” by filling up the arena’s  stands with cheering, sign-waving fans. The best part: the girls do not know we are surprising them, so tell everybody to join us, look for the “Flash Fans” signs, starting at 6:30pm, and be ready to make lots of noise!

PSA: Weather is unexpectedly lovely outside, but come prepared to be the “Best Fans” of Canada’s Great Game being played at an indoor rink!

Welcome to the final countdown!

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the #FriendshipGame.

A quick recap (long version here) :   The Nepean Wildcats will be hosting the Nunavik Nordiques on March 21st from 7:15pm to 8:05pm for a #friendshipgame of hockey at the Mattamy Homes Rink of the Bell’s Sensplex. We are looking to have Ottawa’s best hockey fans come warm up the atmosphere so please let us know you’ll be joining us by sending a quick heads up at the RSVP link above.

*As an added surprise, we will be meeting up at 6:30pm that night to make signs to cheer on the girls. We’ll have bristol boards, markers and everyone’s name and jersey numbers. This activity is open to anyone who’d like to participate.

As we are gearing up to the big day,  we are still looking for donations to a prize basket for a raffle that evening, help in organizing fun outings for the girls and any and all hockey equipment that can be brought back to Nunavik for the future of the Nunavik Hockey Development Program.

We’d love to hear from you and to see you at the rink!
